Superyacht Maintenance features small independent companies that specialise in the maintenance of superyachts. Many yacht Captains have special relationships with small repair companies that know their vessel well and will call on their assistance when needed, with employees often travelling around the world if called upon. Many of these small companies are based close to the major superyacht marinas and refit yards in which they are allowed to operate, in some cases on payment of a fee, but with strict legislation they have to have proof of insurance and competence etc. These companies mostly specialise in marine electronics, yacht painting, carpentry, electrics, engineering, refrigeration, decks etc.
